A Hot One!

Instance:

I woke up nice and early. The combination of the birds and what sounded like an irrate bull made sure of that!

No matter, it was a beautiful morning. Although there was an incredibly heavy dew so everything got packed away soaking wet.

It was a nice gentle start downhill towards the sea. I was then rewarded with some perfectly flat cycle paths! I was so ready for that after all the hills I've dealt with!

I stopped off for some breakfast at a co-op - PACs and PARs washed down with a coffee, before hitting the trails once more.

I was soon sort of entering the Gower, but I really couldn't be bothered to go all the way around, so I followed the paths and got spewed out at Blackpill.

The weather was really hotting up now so I removed layers accordingly.

Swansea seemed nice. I basically rode all along the seafront. Except for a bit that was closed. I've lost count of the number of road/path closures I've come across. Most have been fairly easy detours, but I swear the whole of Wales is one giant roadworks at the moment!

Although nice to mix things up a bit, I started to get a bit bored of the urban environment I was in. There was plenty more to come, so I just got on with it.

After Swansea, things started to get a bit industrial, but there were decent cycle paths all the way through.

When it got to find-a-campsite o'clock, I picked the best looking one that wasn't too far and gave them a call. With that sorted, I set off for the final stretch.

The campsite is pretty big and has all manner of accommodation, but they have some regular camping pitches.

It's on the edge of an odd little town. It's quite nice - it just can't seem to decide if it's a regular town or a full on tourist/holiday town.

Anyway, I found a fish and chips shop, so that was dinner sorted.

Tomorrow might be a bit of an odd day directions wise. There's a real campsite desert after Newport, so it looks as though I'll have to head north a bit. Then on Friday it will be back over the bridge to Bristol.

I've just checked the weather for tonight/tomorrow - heavy rain and thunderstorms! Typical...

At last some really good weather! Those beaches look gorgeous. I liked the little teddy bears picnic 😂
