I had a great time last night staying with Simon,. Melina and family. We had pizza expertly cooked by Simon in his pizza oven. I should have taken some photos of this culinary extravaganza, but I was too busy stuffing my face!
Anyway, after a good night's sleep, it was time to hit the road.
It was quite fiddly getting out of Bristol - lots of easy to miss turns to keep going on the most cycle friendly route.
I eventually made it out of the city and into pleasant country lanes. As the sun climbed higher, the temperature rose and the layers came off. Definitely the warmest it's been so far. The tan is coming on nicely!
The road passed close to the river at various points and there was quite a long stretch along a canal - the name of which I've forgotten.
I passed through Gloucester and was soon back out onto country lanes. The miles were ticking by and I had to decide how far to go before finding a campsite.
I had a couple in mind and opted for the one that was half the price of the other!
I'm not sure if that was the best choice as this place is pretty busy and not the most picturesque site.
But I'm here now. I did a food run as there's a load of shops just down the road and I'm pretty much all ready to relax for a bit before bed.
I just checked the forecast and it isn't good. Heavy rain predicted throughout the night and into tomorrow. Could well be a wet start! Fingers crossed it's not too bad.
