Bristol blast

The day started as all days should start when camping - bright sunshine streaming into the tent!

This helped dry things out before packing up and I was away around 8am.

I worked my way back towards Taunton where I could pick up some breakfast and get back on the cycle route. It was very busy, so I skipped the breakfast and just smashed out some early morning miles.

It was a mixture of canal path and country lanes. But most importantly, it was flat!

I eventually stopped for breakfast - well more like lunch by now at a coop. Basically just ate half the shop!

I could see the Mendips looming in the distance, so I knew the climb up through Cheddar Gorge was imminent.

When I got there it was very busy. Lots of people milling around doing touristy things. I just cracked on with the climb.

It wasn't too bad, steep in places, but it was over pretty quickly. Obviously not as big as I'd thought!

After that, it was just a gentle bimble through the lanes to Bristol. And that is where I am now - staying with Simon. I believe we're having home cooked pizza tonight, so i look forward to that!

Did you buy any Cheddar Cheese? Clifton Suspension Bridge brings back many happy memories for me!

Glad to hear the sun came out! I’ve never been to cheddar gorge, but didn’t realise there was a road through it! Have a good evening
