Day 14 - Little Staughton to Newport Pagnell
ShowMap
I was a bit worried I wouldn't sleep too well at such a busy campsite, but I dozed off whilst there was still all sorts of noise and stuff going on, but woke up a bit later to absolute silence! So I went back to sleep again and didn't wake up until 6, which is a bit later than usual!
I only had about 25 miles to do to Newport Pagnell to stay with Clint and Dawn - which is turning into a bit of an end of tour tradition. Well, it's the second year at least!
It was just a short ride into Bedford first where I stopped for coffee and a bite to eat. I've only been to Bedford once before and that was on a tour exactly 20 years ago! Looks the same as I remember - nice parky rivery bit in the middle.
After that I carried on for a bit then stopped for an icecream in North Crawley. I read about its medieval history on a plaque by the church and suitably informed pressed on for the last few miles to Newport Pagnell.
We spent the afternoon at the carnival / fair thing that was on today. Saw some old cars, watched a bit of live music and ate some greasy food! All in glorious sunshine!
Tomorrow I have about 70 miles to do to get home. Looks like it's going to be super hot again!
