The day started with the England vs Mexico match in the World Cup. Obviously we didn't stay up all night to watch it live so watched a recording starting around 6:30am. No sneaky looking at phones to see the result first - although I kind of wished I had as it would have saved an awful lot of stress! What a game!

With the footy done, it was time to head off home. I used the route I'd made last year. I'd forgotten how rubbish some of it was! Too many busy roads - especially early on. Not so bad as I got further east and back into my manor, but I think I need to make the ultimate Newport Pagnell to Chelmsford GPX as I'm not doing that one again!

It was a pretty much just head down and get it done. Quite a few water stops as the heat was up again today - really annoying that nice cold water from a shop was just lukewarm water 5 minutes after transferring into my bottles!

It was a pretty long day and I eventually rolled home sometime after 6pm. I've done a load of washing and started to pack stuff away. I'll give my tent a good clean and airing tomorrow ready for its next adventure wherever that may be!
