Another sunny day!

I was packed up and ready to go by half 7, which seems to be becoming my default start time! I stopped after about 100 yards though for my usual breakfast. Really good - still warm so a solid 7.5 / 10.

The first part of the ride was right along the beach, mostly on lovely smooth cycle paths. They've been resurfaced since I was last in this part of the world - still a lot of sand everywhere though!

Mid morning I really felt like a coffee - despite the heat, so stopped at a nice little café. And yet again the German guy I keep running into showed up! I'm beginning to wonder if he's stalking me!

We went our separate ways and I basically carried on staying as close to the sea as possible.  Occasionally I'd ride around the little beach resorts and at other times I just blasted it along the nice wide roads.

After a while I decided I'd better choose a campsite to head to. I settled on one and told my GPS to take me there.

It did a pretty good job, but I realised at one point that I could be on a nice canal path, so I doubled back a couple of miles and got on it. Only to find it was closed! Only that section, but there was no option but the road. So I went back again.

Eventually I made it to the town of Saint-Gilles and the campsite. It's a really nice little site. It even has a swimming pool, which I made use of to cool off on arrival.

I think I've decided to head north from here. Up to Switzerland through France rather than Italy. There are a number of reasons for this - the main one being distance! Actually, it's not the distance, it's the time. Looking at the map it's a long old way and I do want to get home at some point! I'll leave Italy for another time.

Right, I'm just having a coffee after a meal at some cheap but poncy restaurant. I think they're trying to get rid of me. Perhaps me wolfing down each course offends them 😋

That makes sense - didn't think cheese on toast seemed very French.

What an improvement in the weather from last week 😁I'm trying to identify your meal - is the starter cheese on toast? Not sure about main course (apart from the rice) - some kind of meat and mushroom casserole? Creme brûlée for pudding? Aidan did his last gcse today so the holidays start tomorrow for him....we're going out for pizza to celebrate tomorrow night.

The starter was warm goats cheese salad thing. You are correct about the rest 😀
